Shedding Old Skins at Yule. Evolving into New Life Chapters.

A portrait of Anais Nin with one of her quotes.

Shedding Old Skins at Yule

I had a short Yule thought I wanted to share with you.

Your external reality tends to reflect the thoughts, beliefs, and mindset you held about six months ago. It perpetually trails behind, unable to accurately depict the person you have evolved into internally, as you consistently embrace new chapters of life.

So, here's a question for you, this Yule season - the season of personal transformation and shedding skins. What do you need to release, to ensure that your external life more accurately portrays and supports who you are . . . and who you know you're becoming?

What are you prepared to leave behind, in order to get where you want to go?

What are the old skins you're shedding, this Yule?

Anais Nin

"To change skins, evolve into new cycles, I feel one has to learn how to discard. If one changes internally, one should not continue to live with the same objects. They reflect one's mind and the psyche of yesterday. I throw away what has no dynamic, living use."

I love this quote from Anais Nin (18/9) . . . especially around Yule. As someone walking a 18/9 Birth Path Number, she intimately understands this journey of crossing the threshold from 9 into 1, and constantly re-inventing herself. It's part of her entire life journey . . .

I invite you to make time, during Yule, to pause and reflect.

What do you need to shed?

This season, what elements of your old skin; outworn friends; outdated clothes, books, and music - anything that anchors you in your former life - are you called to release, so that you can truly embrace the next chapter of your unfolding story?

Peace
